Counselling Contracts
I aim to respect clients as individuals with autonomy and equally
ask that there will be mutual respect within our professional
relationships. As a Person-Centred Therapist I attempt to understand
experience from my clients’ personal perspective; unless the session
involves specific career related advice, I will not offer advice and
attempt to let clients lead the sessions in terms of topics
discussed. I work privately from agency counselling rooms in
Stirling and Glasgow.
Confidentiality is
paramount in allowing people to proceed with therapy. However, I do
have to attend professional supervision for my support and
development, and any client's issues which have an impact on me may
be discussed within that confidential setting. The limits of
professional confidentiality will be further discussed at the
beginning of our contract. I am a member of the
British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Psychotherapy
Counselling will help you make decisions but a counsellor will not
tell you what to do. If that is what you want, you
need
to look for some other type of help, such as information and advice
agencies, telephone help lines, support or self-help groups.
